| Summary, etc. | El propósito de este libro es identificar una posible periodización de las tres etapas de difusión por las que atravesó esta pandemia en la Isla, sus características particulares y algunos de los impactos sociales y económicos, que sobresalen en las escasas narrativas de los médicos, las autoridades y de la prensa. Además, aborda el miedo generalizado que provocó la misma a medida que gran parte de la población se infectaba rápidamente, muchos morían y la cotidianidad se veía alterada por sus estragos. Finalmente, siguiendo un enfoque sociocultural en torno a la enfermedad de la influenza, analiza simultáneamente las ”instituciones, los procedimientos, análisis y reflexiones” que dieron paso a una nueva forma de gobernar. |
