520 _aGPCP is a component of WCRP Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX). Established 1986 to provide monthly mean precipitation data, it merges infrared and microwave satellite estimates of precipitation with rain gauge data from more than 30,000 stations. All its member countries contributed to this analyses.
