De Vries has thoughtfully revised and updated the 1893 edition of Robert's Rules of Order, the official guide to parliamentary procedure. In part 1 of her book, the author offers her own advice on essential "premeeting and postmeeting activities such as planning, budgeting, ~meeting announcements, agendas, facilities selection, speaker invitations, publicity and promotion, registration, and proceedings publication." In part 2, De Vries presents "all of General Robert's rules and commentary in contemporary English." The small print in this paperback may add to the strain of meeting preparation, but the book's size makes it convenient to carry.
