As stated in the preface, "the purpose of this book is to give a comprehensive review of the facts and trends in veterinary and human parasitology." The book is written by experts in their fields and they have succeeded in producing an excellent work. It contains chapters on life cycles, behavior, morphology, reproduction, genetics, variation and epidemiology, metabolism, host-finding, hormones, pathology, immunology, and drug resistance, as well as a few short chapters on such subjects as the geomedical aspects of parasitology. The illustrations and photographs are very good, the references are up to date, and the index is comprehensive. It is an informative and well-edited text that should hold the interest of a wide range of readers and should be in any academic library that serves individuals interested in parasites. -R. F.
