Booklist Review

Australian doctor Ian Brighthope advocates alternative therapies for AIDS, proposing the use of vitamin C and a variety of nutritional supplements to combat the deadly disease. Despite Brighthope's claims and the book's testimonials, no one really knows if these therapies will work. Yet, since there is no conventional cure for AIDS, Brighthope's ideas do offer one more avenue of hope for AIDS victims. Of most value are his specific tips on boosting the immune system: diet modifications, positive thinking, relaxation, meditation, exercise-- all of which have been proven to help fight other diseases. This volume is recommended with caution-- AIDS victims may at least learn more about how to ease the affliction's symptoms. Index. MES.
