Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

Considers basic issues of performance, exploring how techniques for quick learning affect long-term retention, whether an expert's behavior can serve as a model for beginners, if team performance is the sum of individual members' performances, and whether subliminal learning has a basis in science. CHOICE Review

Aims to provide an up-to-date survey of research and theory on ways of enhancing human performance. As a result, one will find here a description of what is known about improving performance through training (e.g., modeling experts' behavior), altering mental states (e.g., meditation, subliminal self-help), and other types of influences (e.g., group performance). The book is written in an expository style, without the tedious language that one expects of technical articles, but that can bog down more general writings. The editors of the report are very well known researchers; the committee of persons responsible for the report are leading figures in their areas of research. The book was well produced, with attractive layout and helpful figures that provide a useful adjunct to the discussions of research findings. A valuable addition for library collections, providing a very readable, state-of-the-art survey of research findings and theories on the enhancement of human performance. General; advanced undergraduate through professional. K. F. Widaman; University of California, Riverside
