Avneyon's dictionary contains definitions for approximately 6,000 terms in the area of finance and on a wide range of topics related to finance (i.e., economic theory, accounting, banking, law, marketing, and real estate). The range of topics is so wide, however, that extensive coverage of any of them is impossible. Cross-referenced terms within a definition are indicated in small capital letters, but several of these were found to be dead ends. Also, additional see references would make this source more useful (e.g., there is no listing for the commonly used acronym PERT to lead to the definition found under "Program Evaluation and Review Technique"). There are, however, in-depth discussions of many of the terms included in this dictionary. For many libraries, a more useful source may be Jerry Rosenberg's less expensive Dictionary of Banking and Financial Services (2nd ed., 1985; 1st ed., CH, Oct '82), with its brief definitions of more than 15,000 entries.
