Janet Jones is the deputy head of department at the School of Creative Arts, University of the West of England. After 15 years working for the BBC as a broadcast journalist producing news and current affairs strands such as Panorama , The Money Programme , Newsnight and The Financial World Tonight , she started researching and teaching in 1999, joining UWE in 2006 from The University of Wales.Lee Salter is the journalism programme leader at UWE. His research interests include journalism and the public sphere and the relationship between media and politics, social movements, political economy of the media and media organisations, and the politics and uses of media technologies (especially the Internet). He is currently working on a project on the BBC News Online′s reporting of the Bolivarian revolution in Venezuela, assessing content bias and discourse, and undertaking thematic analysis.
