Greta Podleski and her sister Janet have written a unique cookbook by taking nutritious foods and flavoring them generously with humor. The result is the delightful, Looneyspoons: Low Fat Food Made Fun (1997).This book has been praised for its tasty, easy-to-make recipes and its creative, entertaining approach. Recipes have amusing titles, such as Veal of Fortune, Using Your Noodles, No Peeking! We're Dressing, but also include a chapter titled What's In It For Me, that provides the nutritional content and percent of calories from fat per serving. Cartoons and jokes tickle the funny bone (What did the leftovers say when they were put in the freezer? Foiled again), and the nourishing recipes are designed to stick to the ribs.
Greta and Janet Podleski are from Ottawa, Canada. The two joke-cracking, good-cooking sisters have appeared on the Today Show where they demonstrated how they can make you laugh and please your palate at the same time.
