Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

This informative manual provides everything the professional librarian needs to know about cataloging computer software. Examples of softwear labels, title screens, and catalog cards are used to illustrate how to catalog microcomputer software according to the 1974 Guidelines to Chapter 9 of the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, 2nd edition. The samples include educational programs, educational games, and business and public disks and cassettes. Designed as a supplementary tool, this thorough volume is intended to accompany the Guidelines, to enhance their use, and to make them concrete through examples and explanations.

"Has also been published as Cataloging & classification quarterly, volume 6, number 2, winter 1985/86"--T.p. verso.

Includes index.

Booklist Review

This primer of rules and methods for cataloging microcomputer software includes material relevant for educational or business uses. An introductory chapter discusses sources of cataloging information (e.g., title screen, labels, box, etc.), the parts of the bibliographic card, and the order of their placement. Educational software is then discussed in three chapters: one each for elementary and secondary school material, college level material, and games. A final chapter explains machine-readable data files. Good examples of catalog cards and disk information supplement the text. Index.
