Library Journal Review

This is a sensible, well-organized, and well-written guide through the minefield of managing life as a single mother. The author was a facilitator for the Vanderbilt University Single Mother's Group and uses the real-life problems and solutions that have come out of it as examples. Topics as diverse as plumbing, raising psychologically as well as physically healthy children, and nutrition, are covered in brief narratives. Valuable more for inspiration and encouragement than for in-depth instruction, this is an affordable addition to life skills sections of public libraries. Single moms will appreciate it.
