Charles J. Topper, EdD, is Associate Professor of Counseling at St. Joseph College in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he teaches and supervises students in pastoral counseling and spiritual care. He is a licensed professional counselor, an approved clinical supervisor of the National Board for Certified Counselors, a certified chaplain of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, and a counseling educator in the American Association of Pastoral Counseling. Dr. Topper is a priest from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. His professional interests and research are in the area of spirituality, spiritual care, and spiritual assessment in relation to counselor education and ministerial training. His work focuses on the development of a shared spiritual language for psychological and religious professionals
