Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

Ropics is a fitness programme. Readers will learn that rope jumping is inexpensive, portable, and not dependent on weather conditions or special facilities. It also burns calories, strengthens the heart and lungs and tones muscles. This book attempts to make it easy for readers to learn how to jump rope and to develop a Ropics exercise programme that's right for them.

Includes bibliographical references (p. 135-136).

Booklist Review

In this introduction to jump roping, physician Solis makes a strong case for incorporating what he calls the "ropics program" into a well rounded fitness routine. He sells the reader on the versatility, adaptability, and health benefits of jump roping before introducing the workout regimen, which consists of a warm-up, stretching, aerobic, and cool-down phase. Jump roping techniques and specific movements, including the forearm wrap, matador whirl, heel touch, and crossed step-through, are clearly explained. While it is doubtful that jump roping will replace jogging, bicycling, and stair-climbing machines as popular aerobic activities, exercisers looking for a different cardiovascular program may be attracted to this basic, no-frills introduction to the "ropics program." ~--Sue-Ellen Beauregard
