Booklist Review

Edited by the director of the Colorado Library Consortium and the delivery services coordinator for the South Central Library System in Wisconsin, this work pulls together chapters by several contributors. The book begins with a survey of the current landscape of delivery, the forgotten function. Part 2 discusses library delivery service models, both in-house and outsourced, as well as contractual vendor relations. The third part focuses on ways to manage physical delivery services. Finally, the future of physical delivery is examined, looking at home delivery and courier services. A glossary enables novices to understand the terminology in the book, an annotated bibliography suggests further readings, and an index encourages location of exact information. Even experienced materials movers will benefit from this review of current issues and methods.--Marcus, Sara Copyright 2010 Booklist
