Mobil Oil's vice-president for public affairs tells business people how to understand and relate to the news media. Schmertz includes many interesting cases and anecdotes from his career to illustrate how the broadcast and print media operate. He gives detailed advice on how to prepare for and handle both television interviews and interviews with print reporters. He describes the differences between television news and print journalism. Schmertz emphasizes the benefits of having an ongoing relationship with the media, and he tells how to accomplish this. Highly recommended for corporate, academic, and larger public libraries.
