Booklist Review

To date, the titles in the Future series of the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management consist of three noteworthy volumes of original essays by prominent authorities and writers that consider in turn the future of leadership, organizations, and communities. The Drucker Foundation also publishes a quarterly journal, Leader to Leader, whose contributors come from the same roster of experts. Here Hesselbein, who heads the Drucker Foundation, and Cohen, who is the journal's managing editor, have compiled 37 of the most significant articles that have appeared in their publication. All focus on leadership; they cover the "enduring principles of effective leadership," leading change, changes in the workplace, strategic leadership, inspiring peak performance, building teams, and leadership across sectors. Among the many well-known authors are John Gardner, James Kouzes, Warren Bennis, Stephen Covey, Kenichi Ohmae, Margaret Wheatley, Charles Handy, and Drucker himself.
