Terry Goodkind's bestselling epic fantasy series Sword of Truth continues with book four
On the red moon will come the firestorm...
Wielding the Sword of Truth, Richard Rahl has battled death itself and come to the defense of the D'Haran people. But now the power-mad Emperor Jagang confronts Richard with a swift and inexorable foe: a mystical plague cutting a deadly swath across the land and slaying thousands of innocent victims.
To quench the inferno, he must seek remedy in the wind...
To fight it Richard and his beloved Kahlan Amnell will risk everything to uncover the source of the terrible plague-the magic sealed away for three millennia in the Temple of the Winds.
Lightning will find him on that path...
But when prophecy throws the shadow of betrayal across their mission and threatens to destroy them, Richard must accept the Truth and find a way to pay the price the winds demand...or he and his world will perish.

A deadly plague sweeps the fantasy world of Goodkind's best-selling series. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.Publishers Weekly Review
The fourth entry in Goodkind's Sword of Truth fantasy saga opens only weeks after the close of Blood of the Fold (1996). The evil Emperor Jagang is not dead, after all, but is still scheming against Richard Cypher, bearer of the Sword, and against Richard's betrothed, Kahlan Amnell, the Mother Confessor. The schemes go far beyond mere invasion or assassination: their centerpiece is a magically spread plague that brings hideous death, particularly to children. To stop this pestilence, Richard must find the long-lost Temple of the Winds; and in order to do that, he and Kahlan must forswear their love and each marry another. Sundry subplots involving the wizard Zedd and other well-drawn characters fill out the book. Goodkind's prose sometimes lags, but his ingenuity rarely does (his magical-traveling sliph is a gem), though the roles he assigns to women sometimes languish at the level of pop-feminism. Even so, the many readers who have traveled this far in the series should wander happily through this addition. (Oct.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reservedBooklist Review
The fourth Sword of Truth novel opens a few weeks after Blood of the Fold [BKL N 15 96] ended. Richard Cypher, Lord Rahl, bearer of the sword and ruler of D'Hara, and his beloved Kahlan Amnell, the mother confessor, find that evil Emperor Jagang is not as dead as they had thought. The Imperial Order attacks them with a plague, and Richard must seek the long-lost Temple of the Winds to defeat the scourge. To succeed at this, he and Kahlan must each marry someone else, which provokes a lot of scenery chewing and many scenes of real emotional power. In due course, all comes out right; meanwhile, Goodkind offers several well-crafted subplots. Definitely influenced by Tolkein's Lord of the Rings by way of Robert Jordan's vast Wheel of Time, though not altogether up to the level of either series, Goodkind's fantasy epic will still have its readers turning pages and eagerly awaiting the fifth volume of it, which is said to be in the works. --Roland GreenNotas de autor provistas por Syndetics
