Picturesque Scandinavian archipelagos and extra-long summer days create the perfect environment for dreamy homes. Summer houses that blend smoothly into their surroundings help us reconnect with and merge into nature. But even in the long, dark winters, these homes must be destined to withstand exceptional weather conditions. The main features of these houses are the abundance of light, large windows and free, minimalist interiors. This selection of 40 stunning houses defines a perfect summer escape for those Scandinavian days that seem to last forever and, at the same time, an ideal place to spend the long winter days Departments: 006 Introduction -- 008 Denmark: Skagen Klitgard PAX ARCHITECTS / 2021 -- Kildeskovsvej Valbaek Broup Architects / 2023 -- Heatherhill Beach House Norm Architects / 2024 -- Vipp Cold HawaiiGuesthouse Hahn Lavsen / 2024 -- Lysal Pavilion N+P Arkitektur / 2023 -- 048 Sweden: Villa Stromma Andrénfogelstrom / 2022 -- Villa Timmerman Andreas Lyckefors + Josefine Wilkolm / 2020 -- Holiday Home Margen Wigow Arkitektkontor / 2019 -- Summerhouse Solviken Johan Sundberg Arkitektur / 2018 -- Yngsjo Johan Sundberg Arkitektur / 2023 -- Field House Lookofsky Architecture / 2020 -- Dalaro House Olson Kundig / 2019 -- Sjoparken Norm Architects / 2024 -- House on a Hill Tham & Videgard Arkitekter / 2022 -- Library House Fria Folket, Hanna Michelson / 2022 -- Simonsson House Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects / 2021 -- Johall Getaway House Claesson Koivisto Rune Architects / 2024 -- South Loft Fria Folket, Hanna Michelson / 2021 -- 148 Norway: Saltviga House Kolman Boye Architects / 2022 -- Cabin Nordmarka Rever & Drage Architects / 2022 -- Hytte Portor R21 Arkitekter / 2021 -- Villa Solveien R21 Arkitekter / 2021 -- Twin Houses Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter / 2022 -- Woodnest Helen & Hard / 2020 -- Furudalen 20 Kvalbein Korsoen Arkitektur / 2023 -- 202 Finland: Villa Furuholmen Stra Arkitekter + Sarita Poptani / 2019 -- Villa Sjoviken Jenni Reuter / 2022 -- Summerhouse V Playa Architects / 2021 -- Villa K Saukkonen + Partners / 2020 -- Two Sisters Holiday Home MNY Arkitekter / 2023 -- 244 Index -- Agata Toromanoff.
