Numerous responses to this invitations have been offered from various ecumenical theological dialogues. The Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity saw in the 25th anniversary of the encyclical Ut unum sint, as well as in the convocation by Pope Francis of Synod on synodality, an opportunity to offer a synthesis of these recent ecumenical developments. The Bishop of Rome, summarising some thirty responses to Ut unum sint and fifty ecumenical dialogue documents on subject, is the fruit of a large ecumenical and synodal consultation. It concludes with a brief proposal of the Dicastery, identifying the most significant suggestions put forward by the various responses and dialogues. a Texts and summaries in English. 20aCatholic ChurchbPope (1978-2005 : John Paul II). 0aPapacy and christian union 0aPopesxPrimacy. 0aChristian unionxCatholic Church. 0aCouncils and synods Canon law.
