They were composed during her final years, often at the request of her Carmelite superiours. Here the noted philosopher, Catholic feminist and convert shares her reflections on prayer, liturgy, the lives of holy women, the spirit of Carmel, the mystery of Christian vocation, and the meaning of the cross in our lives. These essays, poems and dramatic pieces offer readers a unique glimpse into the hidden inner life of one of this century's most remarkable women. 20aCarmelitesxReligious life. 0aSpiritual lifexCatholic Church. 0aMonastic and religious life of womenvMeditations. 0aChristian converts from JudaismxReligious life. 0aChristian hagiography.1 aGelber, Lucy.1 aLinssen, Michael.1 aStein, Edith,cSaint,d1891-1942.tWorks.lEnglish.f1986 ;vv. 4.
