This book begins with their Common Declaration inaugurating official dialogue between the two communions. It continues, after an introduction setting the scene, with six of the papers presented by leading theologians at the three meetings of the Joint Preparatory Commission, held at Gazzada, Huntercombe, and Malta. It ends with the 'Malta Report'(at the first kept confidential for some time) and related documents. The Roman Catholic contributors are Cardinal Willebrands (two papers) and Bishop B.C. Butler, and the Anglicans are Professor Eugene R. Fairweather from Canada, Professor H.E. Root and Bishop J.R.H. Moorman from England, and Bishop H.R. McAdoo from Ireland. The book as a whole is a record of historic steps taken by the two churches towards rapprochement, the fruits of which are beginning to be seen in more cordial relations and continuing dialogue.20aChurch of EnglandxRelationsxCatholic Church.20aCatholic ChurchxRelationsxChurch of England.1 aClark, Alan C.,eed.1 aDavey, Colin,d1934-eed.
