The exposition of organisms to QDs can result in negative effects in their organs, tissues , cells, and immune system due to their production of reactive oxygen species. By culturing CHO cells with Cadmium- based QDs , it was demostrated that the QDs were cytotoxic to the cells and the effect was dependent on the QDs concentration. Microscopy examination showed a strong green fluorescence of the CdSSe QDsindicating a possible incorporation of the QDsinside the cells ER -
