This research investigates implementations of ERP systems based on the Enterprise Architecture. The thesis discusses the theoretical relation between Enterprise Architecture and ERP, based on the distinction between operational effectiveness and strategy. A nonexperimental survey was distributed through a varied sample with people who have worked with ERP systems from an end user and implementation standpoint. The results were used to identify crucial factor that are important when implementing an ERP system. The results determined that with a clear scope, management support, strong team members and internal preparation are critical to an ERP implementation. The investigation was consistent with literature on determining the critical factors when implementing an ERP system.
