These components include: a centralized Domestic Violence Intake Center (DVIC), a specialized clerk's Domestic Violence Coordination Unit (DVCU), and Domestic Violence Unit (DVU). Study finding includes an analysis of what 250 intake center clients said about their experiences at intake and the court; case records (interfamily, civil and criminal) for these 250 clients and the respondents in their cases, as well as for another 250 cases filed during the same period; courtroom observations; interviews with numerous professionals working in and with the DVU.
