"The Caribbean Forester, published between 1939 and 1963, was a forerunner of many technical forestry journals of the neotropics. It was published by the Tropical Forest Experiment Station of the Forest Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, now the International Institute of Tropical Forestry. It had initial support from some of the other Caribbean islands. Credit for the creation of the journal goes to Dr. Leslie R. Holdridge and to Arthur Bevan, respectively Principal Scientist and Director of the Station. Editing, throughout its life, fell to Dr. Frank H. Wadsworth, Research Scientist and Director during the period".
