The porpuse of this study was to investigate the level of participation and commitment regarding the goals fo the faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. The main research questions were: (a) What level of participation does the faculty have in setting the goals? (b) Haw does the faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico participate in activities related to decision making? (c) How commited is the faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico (d) What is the relation between the commitment of the faculty and the persuit of the activities of the institution? The population studied was 221 male and female faculty members of the of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico that have been active from 1990 to 1995. The statistical procedures used the grouping of the data by frequency distribution and percentages or rankings. The rankings in the form of the scores, tallies of questionnaire answeres, and enumeration observations. Analysis of the data yielded the followings results: (a) excellent faculty participation in meeting Institutional goals. (b) Faculty does not participate in decision making. (c) Faculty is very committed to the of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and to the persuit of the institutional activities.
