Included here are the essential documents from all the important religious traditions (excepting Judaism and Christianity) arranged according to major recurrent themes. For, says the the author, only by studying a number of religious text relating to the same subject is their similarities and differences. Major themes documented: Gods, Myths of Creation, Man and the Sacred, Death, After-Life, Eschatology, Specialists of the Sacred, From Medicine-Man to Mystics and Founders of Religion, Speculations on Man and God.
