Resumen: One of the great theologians of our time sounds a call to take the risks necessary to gain the future by walking openly toward it, filled with hope. The opportunities which Rahner writes about are not simply the great and important ones which can bring immediate fulfillment and satisfaction. Many, in fact equally important, are small, thankless, even exhausting. All are directly involved with the service of one's neighbor –with deds which, performed on a large or small scale, "liberate us to praise God". The seven chapter of the book deal with the claims of the Gospels, the mysteries of belief, belief and prayer, the Christian message for today, living results, the priesthood and church order in revolution, and the pilgrim church. All have, in Father Rahner's words, "grown out of reflection on how the 'ever valid' world of God is to be conveyed to this modern, skeptical, sensitive, secularized man"of today.
