Resumen: This book is a commentary on all the major biblical text dealing with the Spirit, from the book of Genesis in the Old Testament to the book of Revelation in the New testament. It is an invaluable reference book for students, teachers, bible study groups, and charismatic Christians, both Protestant and Catholic. The author, George T. Montague, has not only provided a rich and thoughtful commentary on individual texts, but he ahs, by the nature of his work, offered a multi-faceted overview of the growth of biblical doctrine on the Spirit covering many centuries. From the time of the Yahwist, when the Spirit was pictured as God's "breath of life", to the personalized pneumatology of the Fourth Gospel, the biblical doctrine of SPirit has shown steady development. The approach of the book is neither fundamentalist nor purely rational. It uses the contributors of scholarship without burdening the reader with academic detail, and attempts to place a wealth of theological knowledge within he reach of persons seeking spiritual erichment.
