Theology and Kerygma--The concept of revelation as the root of kerygma--Trinity as beginning and end of the invisible--The mystery of original justice and original justice and original sin--The mystery of the hypostatic union--The perfection of the invisible in church, grace, and vision--The theology of the life of Jesus--The theology of the visible church--The theology of the sacraments--The theology of the visible priesthood--The theology of the remaining sacraments--The resurrection of the flesh.
Resumen: The single most enduring task of the Church is simply to preach the world of God. In large part this task falls formally upon priest —it is they who spend years studying theology in all dogmatic, pastoral and mysterious nuances, and who are then sent to preach the kergyma to the people of God. But at this point the priest often finds there is a tremendous gap between the spirit of the chiefly "scholastic" learning he has acquired in the seminary and the need he feels to make the revelation of God coherent, embracing, and even astounding to the people to whom he preaches. It is this perennial which the gifted historian and theologian Hugo Rahner deals whith in A Theology of Proclamation. Here he presents the major truths of faith in the context of divine-human economy of salvation — the context that the great preachers and shapers of the predogmatic Church presented then in. In making his presentation Father Rahner demonstrates with welcome explicitness and depth how the priest can put the theological knowledge he has acquired at the service of faith in such a way as to make God's own ordering of revelation the vital factor in his preaching. The author feels strongly that it is only through this kind os God-centered immersion in the events of salvation —this "being-filled with the value and beaty of dogmatic truths in their mutual connections" — that the priest can communicate what God has bid him to preach, "a happy presentment of magnificence of divine grace".
