This guide is a record of all of the buildings that have been considered for the Test of Time Award by the Puerto Rico chapter of the American Institute of Architects from 1990 to 2009. When the idea for this guide was first conceived, it was intended to be both informal to read and functional to carry along on architectural visits and thus its tone has deliberately been kept conversational. All comments are by the editor except as noted. The guide is divided into two sections: the awarded projects and the rest of the projects that were considered but that were not awarded (Also Ran), but we considered important to include as well. The entries are listed in an order that makes for logical routes and include their coordinates to help casual wanderers locate them via global positioning systems in cars or other devices. They are also presented in geographical order clockwise from east to west as shown on the maps included. Please note that some of these buildings are privately owned and access to them is not necessarily granted.
