Released in the "Theories of Psychotherapy Series" (which will comprise 24 volumes), these volumes function well independently as separate introductions to theoretical orientations or combine beautifully to provide an overview of the varied traditions that underpin contemporary psychotherapy. Series editors Jon Carlson (Governors State Univ.) and Matt Englar-Carlson (California State Univ., Fullerton), both of whom have their roots in Adlerian theory and psychotherapy, posit that theory guides clinical practice while simultaneously charting a course for new developments that represent the evolution and adaptation of psychotherapeutic approaches. For each volume, the editors sought out an author who is a leader in the field and qualified to write a succinct yet comprehensive description of psychotherapy theory.
