Library Journal Review

Beautifully illustrated and containing more than 600 images and drawings from the Sobatha Atlas, this book should be the ideal introduction for students and lay people to the science field of human anatomy and medicine. The presentation of content is clear, with illustrations and descriptive text scattered throughout. Conceived as a basic anatomy reference book by H.F. Ullmann (known for producing upscale books at affordable prices), this work presents detailed illustrations and drawings of the exterior and interior of the human body, clearly labeled for easy identification of each section of the human body. Each chapter is preceded with explanatory text to facilitate understanding of its content. Bottom line Comparable with Giovanni Iazzetti's Atlas of Anatomy (Taj Bks., 2005), this work is not suitable for use by graduate students or professionals. It is more appropriate for younger learners and laypeople because of the easy-to-follow format. School and public libraries may consider purchasing. -Luis J. Gonzalez, Hunter Coll.
