Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

Dealers often target the very young to help with drug operations, using them as pushers, messengers, and lookouts. The money involved can convince teens that crime does pay, but we need to convince them otherwise.

School Library Journal Review

Gr 5-9-This series entry speaks directly to teens, particularly reluctant readers, pulling no punches about what they can expect from involvement with illegal drugs. The picture that is painted is of an ugly, violent world that, more often than not, leads to self-destruction and death. Adint points out the factors that make young people vulnerable to ``recruitment'' by drug bosses and counsels those who are naive about the dangers, those who have been entrapped, and those who are tempted by the money or the solace that drugs are reputed to supply. The pipeline from overseas for cocaine, heroin, and marijuana is traced, as is the production of LSD, PCP, and Ecstasy in the U.S. Unfortunately, the chapter on law enforcement procedures and legal penalties is somewhat confusing. Full-color and black-and-white photos are posed, but are generally useful complements to the text. The book conveys a strong and positive message-teens who become involved with drugs lose what they are on the verge of gaining: control of their own lives.-Libby K.
