Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

Do you want to stop forgetting appointments, birthdays, and other important dates? Work more efficiently at your job? Study less and get better grades? Remember the names and faces of people you meet? The good news is that it's all possible. Your Memory will help to expand your memory abilities beyond what you thought possible. Dr. Higbee reveals how simple techniques, like the Link, Loci, Peg, and Phonetic systems, can be incorporated into your everyday life and how you can also use these techniques to learn foreign languages faster than you thought possible, remember details you would have otherwise forgotten, and overcome general absentmindedness. Higbee also includes sections on aging and memory and the latest information on the use of mnemonics.

Translation of: Your memory : how it works and how to improve it.

Includes bibliographical references (p. 282-317) and index.

Booklist Review

Higbee has thoroughly updated his first edition (Prentice-Hall, 1976), incorporating new research from the past decade. He shatters numerous myths about memory including such notions as ``remembering too much can clutter your mind'' or ``some people are stuck with bad memories.'' Serious discussion of what memory is and is not leads into Higbee's sensible suggestions on the means to improve the mental acquisition, storage, and retrieval of information. The development and use of various mnemonic systems are at the core of his advice. A valuable guide, as much for the instruction on memory improvement as for the exposure to why many other approaches to the problem may be fraudulent. DPD. 153.1'4 Mnemonics / Memory [CIP] 87-43143
