Gr 7-12-- Practical advice on the benefits, disadvantages, and opportunities regarding professional careers in sports. Careful planning and conditioning considerations for pursuing professional level sports as well as general information on alternative sports careers are included. Information on self-evaluation, opportunities, steroid use, specializing, planning, and use of agents is clearly and precisely presented, along with charts, factual statistics, and examples. The style is straightforward and matter-of-fact, although at times a little heavy-handed. Young men and women interested in sports, whether considering the professional track or not, would find the book helpful in personal planning.
