School Library Journal Review

Gr 7 Up‘After identifying stress and enumerating its possible causes, Packard discusses various methods of dealing with it such as positive thinking; maintaining a healthy body; and talking with friends, family, and/or counselors and support groups. The author cautions against such quick fixes as drugs and alcohol. She gives sound advice for handling pressures of maturing, family, school situations, and natural disasters. This title is well written if somewhat repetitious. Although stress is often covered in other health books, this is a good, up-to-date addition.‘Martha Gordon, formerly at South Salem Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010.
