Descripciones mejoradas de Syndetics:

Written by major contributors to the field, this book provides students with an introduction and overview of bioinorginic chemistry and gives them the background required to read and follow the current research literature. Each chapter is designed to define and teach underlying principles of bioinorganic chemistry while at the same time describing the state of current knowledge about the particular topic of the chapter. This text-reference is suitable for use in advanced undergraduate and graduate courses.

Includes bibliographical references (p. 585-592) and index.

CHOICE Review

An excellent treatise on this important subject, this book will be a valuable resource for first-year graduate or senior undergraduate students. The idea for this book originated from a 1986 Gordon Conference, whose participants decided that a book was needed to provide students with the background required to follow the research literature in the field. Each of the four editors contributed a chapter in their area of expertise. This is not a typical textbook; there are no questions at the end of chapters, and each chapter is written by different experts. Background material must be learned in prerequisite courses since there are no introductory chapters. There is little attempt to make one chapter flow into another; however, the style of writing is very similar in each chapter and at the right level for upper-division undergraduate students. Nine chapters treat seven main areas of bioinorganic chemistry: transition metal storage and transport, enzyme and catalyst reactions pathways, syntheses and reactions of dioxygen carriers, electron transfer, transition metal sulfide proteins, metal-nucleic acid interactions, and metals in medicine.
