Gr 8 Up-A particularly timely volume, especially as the forces of political correctness have been running headlong into the anticensorship, pro-free speech movement. Both sides of this debate claim to be speaking for the same side (the left) of the political spectrum. This dichotomy is apparent in the intelligent, articulate entries included in this anthology. They are divided into four chapters, each of which presents a balanced series of published articles and speeches addressing the questions: ``Should Government Funding of the Arts Be Restricted?'' ``Should Unrestricted Speech Be Allowed on College Campuses?'' ``Should There Be Limits to Free Speech?'' ``Should Pornography Be Censored?'' Hot topics such as song lyrics, freedom of the press, incitement of hatred, panhandling, and flag-burning are included. An excellent bibliography of both books and periodical articles, an extensive index with cross-referencing, and a list of organizations on both sides of the various issues round out the presentation.
