CHOICE Review

There is increasing interest in providing instruction on environmental regulations and safety because of the growing importance of these topics to business and industry. Woodside's new book is one that many academic libraries will want because it is very appropriate as a resource for environmental law, engineering law, or hazardous waste management. The book is very readable, and the citations provide further information on many topics introduced but not treated in detail. Section 1 is an overview; Section 2 covers workplace management of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, while Section 3 introduces the technology for this; environmental contamination is treated in Section 4 and Section 5 covers hazard assessment and emergency response. Good subject index; several appendixes list selected standards, including those related to safety. For civil and chemical engineers and environmental scientists. General; advanced undergraduate; graduate; professional. L. E. Erickson; Kansas State University
