CHOICE Review

This index "analyzes the contents of more than 200 anthologies of Spanish language short stories published in Spanish America, Spain, and the United States from 1979 to the present, regardless of the time period covered by the anthology." Calimano defines an anthology as a collection of the works of three or more authors. A large percentage of these stories originated in Argentina, Mexico, and Spain. The author does not include English translations. This work is similar in purpose and format to Short Story Index (1974- ). The main index is the author index, which includes a list of short story titles and where these stories can be found. The title index refers the reader to the author index. A geographical index by country is also included. There is no subject index. The paperback binding will not hold up to much abuse. Recommended to academic and public libraries with large Spanish language literature collections. C. Pracht; Southeast Missouri State University
