Soucek, a well-noted author has written a timely text for a novel and exciting technological area, the applications of intelligent systems based on neural networks. As the research in neural networks matures, more and more developments are being reported in the literature. This book is the first of its kind to present a rather comprehensive treatment of intelligent processes and systems based on the principles of neural networks. In the first part of the book, the basic principles and applications of neural networks are presented. A diversity of real time applications of neural network processes are detailed and discussed. In the second part of the book, a number of intelligent systems in software and hardware are surveyed.
