Se la ha calificado de «condensación monástica para el futuro». Y en realidad no solo resume de un modo genial la doctrina y las instrucciones de los Padres, sino que nos ha llegado con un mensaje perfectamente válido, como lo atestiguan los miles de monjes que siguen practicándola hoy, COmo complemento a la «Regla», esta edición incluye el Libro II de los «Diálogos», en el que san Gregorio Magno traza con precisión el perfil biográfico de san Benito, al que llama «varón de vida venerable, lleno de espíritu de todos los justos». |
