| Summary, etc. | Los llamados «Libros históricos» de la Biblia cristiana suelen incluir los escritos bíblicos que narran la historia del pueblo de Israel. Están agrupados en tres secciones: la «historia deuteronomista» (Jos-2 Re), la «historia cronística» (1-2 Mac). Se complementan con los relatos de Rut, Tobías, Judit y Ester, que en este volumen se engloban bajo el epígrafe de »Narrativa». En su conjunto reflejan los avatares del pueblo elegido desde la conquista de la tierra hasta el siglo II a. C. bajo la perspectiva de la fe en el Dios salvador de Israel. Dado que el historiador israelita no tiene la mentalidad de nuestros mismos criterios de objetividad y fidelidad al pasado, el estudio de estos libros requiere una especial labor de discernimiento entre historia, género literario y fe. El lector encontrará en el presente volumen las herramientas necesarias para entender la naturaleza y contenido de cada uno estos escritos, así como su mensaje y enseñanza.
