| Summary, etc. | La lucha en favor de la justicia es una dimensión constitutiva de la predicación del Evangelio, según declaró hace años el Sínodo de los Obispos. Pero ¿cuál es la justicia en cuyo favor se compromete la Iglesia en su misión evangelizadora? ¿Cuál es la relación entre la justicia y la caridad? ¿Y cuál la relación entre fe y la caridad? ¿Cuál es el papel del del evangelizador a la hora de actuar sobre las estructuras y en el terreno político? Todas estas preguntas siguen teniendo una enorme actualidad en la Iglesia y se hallan en el centro mismo de agitados debates, como lo demuestran los conflictos surgidos en torno a la «teología de la liberación». A esas preguntas intenta responder el P. Calvez mediante el estudio de un documento-clave en la historia de los jesuitas: el Decreto Cuarto de su Congregación General XXXII (1975), titulado «Servicio de la fe y promoción de la justicia». Documento que ha tenido una enorme influencia y ha sido objeto de toda clase de debates y controversias. Tal vez sea el P. Calvez una de las personas más indicadas para hacer este balance, debido a su cercanía al P. Arrupe, junto a quien estuvo de 1971 a 1983 como Asistente general de la Compañía de Jésus. Este libro, al responder a cuestiones de vital importancia para la Iglesia, ilumina también una etapa realmente apasionante de la orden jesuítica, que, por unas u ptras causas, es objeto constante de interés en la vida de la Iglesia. |
