| Summary, etc. | La santa Iglesia celebra la memoria sagrada de la obra de la salvación realizada por Cristo, en días determinados durante el curso del año. En cada semana, el domingo —por eso es llamado «día del Señor»— hace memoria de la Resurrección del Señor, que una vez al año, en la gran solemnidad de la Pascua, es celebrada juntamente con su santa Pasión. Durante el curso del año despliega todo el misterio de Cristo y conmemora los días natalicios de los santos. El calendario general contiene el ciclo total de las celebraciones, ya sean las del Misterio de la salvación en el Propio del tiempo, ya las de los santos que tienen una importancia universal y por eso todos han de celebrarlos obligatoriamente, ya las de otros santos que demuestran la universalidad y la continuidad de la santidad en el Pueblo de Dios. |
