| Summary, etc. | El autor de este opúsculo plantea, en cuatro capítulos, cuatro problemas fundamentales y actuales para el cristianismo de hoy: En el problema de la fe, el autor inquiere principalmente sobre los comportamientos que constituyen un obstáculo previo a la posibilidad de la fe. Ante quienes, reaccionando contra una práctica religiosa puramente formalista, llegan a reducir al mínimo el valor y la necesidad de una expresión externa de la fe y, aún más, a considerar como sin importancia el culto y los sacramentos, el autor explica el verdadero significado de la vida sacramental de la Iglesia, que hace comprender su necesidad absoluta y su perfecta legitimidad. Cuando se trata de precisar el alcance de las exigencias de la pobreza evangélica nos encontramos en la mayor incertidumbre. El autor se pregunta qué es lo esencial de la pobreza para el evangelio. Luego, aplica su conclusión a resolver casos prácticos. Frente al problema del porvenir de la civilización, que se plantea en nuestro tiempo de una manera angustiosa, el autor formula la siguiente pregunta: La esperanza cristiana, que tiene por objeto la ciudad celeste, ¿guarda también alguna relación con las expectativas humanas sobre el porvenir de la ciudad terrestre? La respuesta a esta pregunta se presta a enjundiosas consideraciones. |
