En El apego, Bowlby examina la naturaleza de los vínculos del niño con la madre a través de sus célebres y cuidadosas investigaciones sobre el enorme impacto que conlleva la temprana separación de la figura materna. Asimismo, muestra cómo los estudios empíricos con niños nos han hecho descubrir pautas conductuales muy concretas, que han quedado posteriormente confirmados por las ciencias biológicas. Bowlby deja muy claro que el apego humano es una reacción instintiva y tan trascendental para nuestra supervivencia como la alimentación y la reproducción. Comenzando con una discusión de la conducta instintiva, su causalidad, funcionamiento y ontogenia, Bowlby procede a una formulación teórica de la conducta de apego: cómo se desarrolla, cómo se mantiene y qué funciones cumple. |
