| Summary, etc. | Este trabajo tiene el propósito de brindar un trasfondo acerca del desarrollo de la previsión sanitaria desde la óptica del Estado, el Gobierno Insular y local (Ponce). Se hará una relación del cual se destacan las reuniones celebradas por los miembros del cabildo de Ponce contenidas en las actas, concernientes a temas relacionados con la divulgación, creación de reglamentos, previsiones y disposiciones tomadas relativas a la sanidad. En estas se discuten asuntos relacionados a la prevención y las medidas que se llevaron a cabo para atender la salud pública de la población. En las actas están contenidas la fecha, concurrentes e informes elevados por los facultativos y por el capitán de puertos, respectivamente, en relación a las epidemias del Colera Morbo, Fiebre Amarilla y Viruela presentes en el Caribe, América, Europa, África y Asia, durante los años de 1814 a 1865, que son los años que comprende esta investigación. |
