Por estructura entendemos la forma geométrica tridimensional de las moléculas, la manera de unirse los átomos, las propiedades físicas, incluyendo los espectros, que dependen de la estructura y nos informan sobre ella, y la distribución electrónica de las moléculas. Existe sólo una docena de clases importantes de compuestos orgánicos, según se cuente, y quizás otra docena de clases menos importantes. Se estudian las estructuras de todos estos tipos con más o menos detalle según su importancia. |
